Most awaited Ghogha-Hajira Ro-Pax ferry service is going to be begun by Hon. Prime Minister of India on 31st October. Before that Additional secretary of the Shipping Ministry of India has visited the location and inspected all the items. The visiting team expressed satisfaction with a new infrastructure made available at Hajira by Adani group.
But top official sweetly acknowledged the financial difference for 2 jetties made available at Kevadia for Seaplane project and little cruise boat. For seaplane project from the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad to the Statue of Unity at Kevadiya are able to serve for tourists and should inaugurate on 31st October. At both end shipping ministry made available floating jetties.
On the road distance between Ahmedabad and Kevadia of Rajpipala is five hours, but Seaplane under the Udaan scheme from Sabarmati Riverfront Ahmedabad to Statue of Unity at Kevadiya will take the only one-hour journey. Another route of Seaplane between Sabarmati Ahmedabad to Shetrunji River at Palitana Bhavnagar has been scrapped thanks to stringent agitation of Jain community.
At Kevadiya small cruise boat also made available for tourists, and for that Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) made available infrastructure. GMB has constructed Jetty at Kevadiya with the value of Rs 12.3 million at Statue of Unity Kevadiya, but before inauguration said Jetty washed-out flooding water, now repairing work goes on. Per annum, Sardar Sarovar overflows and water level near Statue of Unity goes at a higher level.
Before constructing Jetty for tourist, whether GMB have taken note of water level or not and engineering work, pre-feasibility report, construction work also raised a number of questions. Union Shipping Ministry’s Additional Secretary Mr.Sanjay Bandopadhyay has visited Hajira and inspected the infrastructure made available at Hajira for Ghogha-Hajira Ro-Pax ferry service projecting to start from 31st October.
Adani Group has made available facilities within 3 months of your time. And visiting top officials were satisfied with the project. After visiting the project, Additional secretary called meeting at Adani Hazira and officers from Dindayal Port Trust Kandla, GMB, Adani Group, Shipping ministry remained present.
Additional Secretary sweetly commented on the performance of GMB who spent Rs 120 million on a jetty at Kevadia to run small boats for the public, and surprisingly this jetty will always be submerged in water during the release of water from Narmada dam. Whereas the central agency developed a floating jetty at Kevadia for seaplane which cost only Rupees 10 million and this jetty will never be submerged in water even when the water release is at peak.
The leader of opposition in Gujarat Assembly Mr.Paresh Dhanani demanded a probe into the matter and asked the government to research the suspicious thing with the assistance of independent agencies.
Earlier dredging irregularities at Dahej also forced GMB to drop Ghogha-Dahej Ro-Pax ferry service project and capable, experienced Union Shipping Minister Mansukh Mandaviya have snatched the Ro-Pax project from GMB and brought over, as this project may be a dream project of Hon. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
Surprisingly, for the failure of Ghogha-Dahej Ro-Pax project, dredging irregularities at Dahej, Rs 3000 million of Gujarat Government washed in water with failure of the project at Dahej, and Rs 12.3 million spent on the faulty jetty at Kevadiya, as on date none of the responsible officers of GMB inquired nor fact-finding committee has set to bring out the truth of constant failures and irregularities.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and his team in State working hard for development projects, Union Shipping Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also constantly working hard for Alang Ship recycling industry, Ghogha-Hajira Ro-Pax ferry project, but within the concerned department some officers creating hurdles with faulty projects, and these activities ruin government’s image publicly.
