Several measures are being taken by the state government in view of the possible effects of Cyclone Biparjoy in the Western coastal areas of the India. It has also been decided to close the Ghogha-Hajira Ro-Pax ferry service in this category for the next 3 days.
The ferry service from Hazira to Ghogha reached on her scheduled time on Friday, but the meteorological department has warned of uneven waves and unusual weather conditions for the next 3 days.
According to Captain DK Manral, CEO of Indigo Seaways Pvt Ltd, the operator of the Ghogha-Hajira Ro-Pax ferry, the operation of Friday’s ferry was completed without any hitch and the vessel reached its destination on time. But following the forecast of weather department, it has been decided to completely stop the ferry service of both Ghogha-Hajira-Ghogha on 10th, 11th and 12th.
Any passengers who have booked in advance during these 3 days will be transferred to another date of travel or refund will be given.
